so i'm finally moving up in the world. last night i started shooting in the sitting position, which is actually pretty cool. seeing as it was my first time in the position, it was a bit hard to get used to how i had to position my eye relative to the rear sight, but at least my left arm didn't hurt from the sling (althought that was probably due to the fact that i wore a sweatshirt under my shooting jacket, not the position.
at the end of the night, i got acustomed to the kneeling position, which is pretty tricky. you have to have your legs at a 90 degree angle and have your left foot out in front of your knee with your left elbow placed directly before your kneecap. the hard part of this position is that you wanna hold your right arm up like a chicken-wing like you see in all those hollywood movies, but the trick is to let your arm drop to your side like you would naturally, hold the grip like you were shaking hands, hold the stock high and push it back into your shoulder. i didn't get to shoot like that last night, i was just dryfiring after the last relay, but i might shoot in some competitive matches tuesday through thursday if i don't have any swim meets.
and hopefully in a few weeks i'll be able to start shooting standing, which is really hard because you have no way to support your left arm. but after i master that i'm gonna start shooting high-power, like ar's at 200-400 yards. i just hope the targets a little bigger.
just thought ya'll might be interested with what i do on my friday nights... lol
