I think what I really have versus Perl is a non-Believer complex. It does seem like a beautiful language to be fluent in, just like those languages spoken with no vowels would be beautiful.
Strangely enough, there are no known natural languages with no vowel sounds.
For every programming language, there seems to be a niche where it fits well. You don't have to have faith in it, you just have to know which language to use for which purpose. And when the fit is good, you'll be happy.
The only thing I dislike about Ruby is that it assumes you want objects. But most of the time, I don't want to think in objects. I want to think how I think.
