My system has been in my room ever since I hit University... I'm so used to it that I have trouble falling asleep without the system running. In fact, if the power goes out (and the system shuts down) the change in noise levels wakes me up instantly. Its the power-outage alarm - I never miss a morning apointment due to a reset clock. ;)
I used to have no trouble sleeping with my computer a few feet from my head, but after a year or so without it there I found I was unable to go back (or at least, unwilling to go sleepless for long enough to get used to it). Notably, I did find that I sleep much better without the white noise, even though I didn't notice any particular problems before - I just now sleep that much more deeply.
I quite agree. I know when I am tired or have the beginning's of a headache or migraine, I can't handle having or the computer or the TV on, never mind the fluorescent lights meh.
