(no subject)
Quick update since I should really be in bed already:
The new job is going really well. TONS of work already. I was a bit amazed to be working overtime on my first day, lol. And on Wednesday I pulled an 11 hour day! I guess I should have known that despite my newness they'd have my working long hours since the department is currently on deadline. I'm learning quick though. But at the same time I'm facing a bit of anxiety over everything my job title entails. I was told that in about a months time I'll probably be reading and writing about 500 emails a day! I guess that's to be expected when you're in charge of about 500 works of art between two sales. I've really learned to respect all the administrators I worked with at Christie's a whole lot more, lol.
In the mean time a former professor of mine is up for a Distinguished Teaching award and she wants me write a letter to the selection committee on her behalf. Now, I really do like her but she really wasn't my favorite professor at USF despite the fact she is the head of the Art History & Management program and current chair of the Visual Arts Department. So I'm having a bit of a difficult time drumming up her teaching abilities. I lover her, I really do. But her teaching style wasn't that memorable. And to make things worse I haven't written anything of academic merit since graduation nearly two years ago, lol. So I'm a bit...rusty. Oh, and to make the deadline I need to mail the letter ASAP...as in, tomorrow would be ideal. I doubt that's going to happen considering here I am at nearly 1am on a work night procrastinating.
