Basement flooded.
Well the hub of all awesomeness just got powned this morning. I awakened at 6:30 from my sleep on the computer room couch, and as I made my way upstairs for some orange juice, I was stopped in my tracks right before the doorway. The carpet was completely soaked in that spot. For a minute I stood there, wondering, did someone pee here? Did I pee here? It was too cold for pee. I turned on the light. Looking around, I see a soaked carpet, with some water in the hallway. I checked the laundry room and there were small pools of water on both ends. The TV room tile had pools of water on each corner of the room. Apparently the sump pump failed, causing ground water to seep in all over the basement. It was rather quickly replaced by my brother and grandfather, but not before the entire carpet in the computer room became soaked. Luckily it hadn't rained overnight.
Basically, nothing important was ruined. A ton of shit needed to be cleaned though, and the carpet in the computer room had to be torn out. Which means ALL of my musical gear (drums, rhodes, amps, guitars, etc.) had to be hauled out, along with everything on and around the desk, computer included. My family hardcore cleaned everything in the other rooms up, and I set my computer up by the big TV. They leave for Vegas next week, but when they get back Oct. 6, we're going to repaint and carpet the computer room. Walls are gonna be a very dark orange, and the carpet is going to be a dark brown soft shaggy one. So it sucked, but the room will pown as a result. I wonder how Zach and I will engineer it this time.
Oh and next weekend I'll hopefully be off to Cedar Point again. Maverick is the shit.
