Best. Weekend. Ever.

Seriously guys, that whole "Friday the thirteenth" being unlucky? You're a moron. Friday started the best days I have had in a long time.
Let's start around...12:30. Because that is when the road trip began. Picked up Maria at work, then went to Betsy's. FYI: Driving straight through DC? Takes a REALLY long time. We get Betsy and off we go! Through Maryland, through Pennsylvania, eternity on the PA Turnpike, a couple eternities on the Ohio toll road, and then into Indiana. Some choice moments: talking for hours on end and then turning on some music (Romeo and Juliet soundtrack, which we all love), listening to approximately half of a song (and by listen, I mean karaoke along and dance as much as we could while restricted by seatbelts) and then continuing on talking...about 3-4 times through the whole soundtrack. Deep convos, shallow convos, and tons of laughs. Many at my expense... :P Who cares? I love the girls and I LOVED that drive.
We're approaching South Bend and calling the girls to give an update and ask if they want us to pick up any alcohol or donuts. Now, to anyone else (and by that, I mean anyone not in my head) that sounds like a ridiculous combo. Really, I was thinking of bringing some alcohol as a thank you and donuts for the morning so we don't eat up all their food. But it came out sounding funny. Either way, we made a Meijer run on our way in, yelled as we saw the Steak N Shake sign, and arrived back at 107 Opus. The girls ran to let us in and many hugs and squeals were exchanged. As tired as we all thought we were a half hour before we got there, we were wide awake when we got there. We talked nonstop and the donuts that had initially been intended for breakfast were eaten with a glass of wine among friends. We even crammed 7 into Jules' car to go visit Monica in LeMans! But then we got really tired and we headed back.
Saturday was Melissa's wedding and it was a total blast. We didn't know who was going to be there aside from the bride and groom...and a couple members of the wedding party. Who all was there? From 2003: Cathy Canetti, Maria Conticelli, Katie McVoy, Renee, and Kelly; Shannon  (And John) from 04, Me, Maria and Betsy from 05 and Angela (whose year I cannot remember). And that's just at the wedding. Varley, Liz, Claire and Lisa came in for the weekend, Aiea decided to join us, obviously we were staying with Johnnie and Sarah, and then when we Backered, we ran into Tori, Karla, and Lindsey. And Katie and Renee brought Meredith out! So many people I hadn't seen in ages!!!
And speaking of Backer, Backer was alive and VERY well. And amazingly has a floor. (Argue me all you want, Chris Shane-it does exist). The drinks were strong, the townies were scary and the girls were the best dance partners you could ever have. Exchange of the night:
Creepy Townie: You girls are making me so hot, I want to take my sweatshirt off
Liz: you really don't have to
CT: No, really
Liz: Please. Leave it on.
And then we went to sleep so we could wake up and Febreeze the Backer out of our clothes before a Pancake House send off breakfast. I love my girls.
Oh-and then we started a caravan back because Johnnie and Sarah were headed towards DC to stay with us for a couple days. And then we picked up Jules in Toledo. Fun times.
And yesterday was my first day at my "big girl job". And my boss took me out for lunch and my girls (Betsy, Maria, Dani, Johnnie and Sarah) took me out for dinner. And Betsy made sure that when we ordered Bailey's cheesecakes that they put a candle in one and then the restaurant decided to write "happy birthday" in chocolate on the plate. I love my girls. Seriously. This was the best weekend of recent memory. It may not be a new year for the rest of the world, but it's a pretty damn good start to a new year of my life! I mean, I had my New Year's Eve celebration (wedding/backer), screamed at midnight (totally unheard, as, again, I was in Backer), then struggled to wake my ass up the next day :P Awesomeness.
Thank you to all my wonderful ladies!!!
