That thread on rp-anontalk vs. my supremely sane approach to non-con.

I would worry about this more if I weren't so much smarter and better looking than all of these people.

One note:

Also, I suspect that he's the OP of today's rp!s #5.
No. Let's take a look at the secret in question.

A sensitive subject. The OP here is trying to be a buddy, which is nice, but I would never write this secret.

Dub-con and non-con are tricky and sensitive kinks to play to and I have very strict policies about them. I'll do dub- and non-con but only when consent has been clearly expressed by the mun (with one infamous exception that I'm still both angry about and ashamed of.) Seymour never sticks bits in a character who actually says "no." No always means no. This rule will not be broken.

There's rich material for discussion in the way that people want to play hero in threads like this. Far from disapproving of it, I think the Mikuru who started the thread deserved a pile of wannabe heroes. "Anyone can do anything" and they did! They tried to rescue her. The character population at TLH skews very heavily towards heroes/heroines - there are only a handful of bad guys (*doffs hat*) and even fewer of those precious jewels of RP, the morally neutral. Mikuru was statistically 539,108 times more likely to be plucked from peril than molested.

If she wanted to be raped she should have said so. I might have done it myself had she only specified. The final irony is that I've been taking heat for the way that I elide and game IC and OOC, but it is precisely what Mikuru required here: someone willing to ignore what was happening IC (a damsel in distress who doesn't want to be raped) in favor of what was happening OOC (a passive-aggressive request for non-con.)

I resent hurt/comfort and hahaha I can't imagine subbing at TLH. It is unimaginable. I'm not opposed to the idea of Not Being On Top but I could never sub.

smut theory, my e-peen
