Well, this summer I went rafting down the Main Salmon and learned the fun of Kayaking. It was kind of weird, now that I am living in Western Washington, that I was really annoyed by the crowds and noise when we arrived in Riggins.
I got a headache a little over a week ago and headed for the hospital. You know when you think your cold has gone away, only to find out that it hasn't? I was sick on Sunday and Monday, recovered on Tuesday and felt good on Wednesday. Thursday, I woke up with a stiff neck. I thought I slept wrong. About noon, I lay down in bed to rest for a little while and read a book. Then I got up to go to the restroom. My head started pounding. I have had migraines that hurt that much, but that usually takes hours to build up to that.
There were some interesting things though. Meningitis is still not ruled out (I am not dead yet, so I guess that rules out Meningococcal meningitis.) because there was something weird in my CAT scan, so they didn't want to do a spinal tap and did a MRI instead. I see the neurologist tomorrow. Actually, in about 12 hours.
They gave me morphine. Didn't do anything besides me feeling something cold travel around in my blood stream. So they gave me deloted, a pain killer usually used for chemotherapy patients. I felt that it was cold and I smelled something metallic, a bit like licking some copper oxide or zinc. They gave me three more shots of it in the IV. It still did nothing.
If anybody comes to visit Western Washington, especially the Puget Sound region, it would be cool to go do something!
