So, my tailbone has been hurting like HELL since last Thursday, and during the last two days, I couldn't walk, lay down, stand up or sit down without being uncomfortable. I even couldn't sleep in my own bed on Wednesday night, because I couldn't get comfortable. I tried my sister's bed, but it didn't help much, so I resorted to the couch downstairs, which I had been able to take a nap on earlier that night for an hour. It wasn't the most ideal situation, because dad usually falls asleep watching tv downstairs and Midnite can get restless and he of course has to be wherever dad is. But I did sleep relatively well, considering how much pain I was in. I was hopeful, though, because I had an appointment on Thursday at 3:30 in Brockport to find out what was going on, because I'd never been in so much pain.
I got a call from the sub service around 5:15, but I didn't get it in time and I knew I couldn't sub. I eventually made it back up to my room and slept until 10:30.
Later I went to ice my tailbone, and it made me gag, which had been happening lately. But I shrugged it off, because I knew I was in so much pain.
HOWEVER, when I went to make my lunch, all of a sudden I broke out in a sweat, got dizzy, and felt like I would throw-up. I had to strip down to absolutely nothing, because I was so hot. At that same moment, mom called and I almost broke down in tears, because I just felt so shitty. I told her how I felt, and she said, I bet it's not your tailbone. As it turns out, a couple of my family members on my dad's side have all had polynoidal cysts just above their butts, and have had to have them removed, even thought it's not completely genetic.
Well, I was in no shape to drive, so my grandma came and picked me up and took me to the doctor's, and my mom met us there. Sure enough, that's what it was.
So, I had to have it drained and it turned out to be a deep infection, so the doctor had to pack it. He gave me an antibiotic and some codeine though...thank God for codeine. :)
I'm feeling much better now, but feel some discomfort, since I have the packing. But fortunately that's coming out today around 2:30.
Now we're trying to figure out if I've been having tailbone trouble all along, or if it has been a cyst coming and going on its own, because that can happen.
At least I know now why nothing that I did to help my tailbone would work.
