GOOD FRIDAY

Apr 15, 2006 10:28

Hmm Easter is here....well almost on Sunday lol.

But Friday was soo great.

Woke up for 9am service at Figtree Anglican...i's heard that this serman was going to be good and MR Ervine had put stacks of thought into it..

But i didn't exspect the serman to be so great.

As soon as i arrived one of me mates pulled to out of the car and made mum and i Sit with her family...who i havn't seen in 3 years. That was pretty cool.

The Serman was great we sang some old hymes no new stuff...or Figgy songs, instead they opted for a tradional service. Mr Ervine Preeches on what would be suspected, Jesus being crucified on the cross to wash away all our sins...the sins of the Jews...the ones who had persecuted him and send him to his Death.

BUt this is where hit hit home.

Mr Irvine read a passage from Levitius ch16 and then from Mark ch15 With Pilates Dialouge and descrptive information when Jesus was beatin....Then the lights dyed down he steppted down from the stage and the screens lit up with a short film.

The short film had really intensifying music to create a war scene and brutal atmosphere and their was a man a Painter he had a canvaz infront of him and the shot went to a close up of his hands...as the painter started to paint the canvas with all these different colours their where words (visual graphics) appearing. Like..: Nailed to the cross, Pierced with a Spear, Ridiculed, etc etc...all these really Powerful sentances... You couldn't see what the artist was creating on the full shot of the canvas...but after about 2 mins later...the music just stopped the painter stopped and you could see what he had created...

It was a Close up Image of Jesus Crist with the thorns on his head and blood...He's Dead. Then the words came up. His Life in exchange for your Sins....or something.

"And by that will we have been made holy through the sacifice of the body of jesus christi once for all." Heb 10:10

(also from the serman)

It was a pretty powerful message....i loved it. My stomoch was lurching...Interesting how little things like that can just make you gulp and seriously start reconsidering aspects of your life which are very doubtful and contradictiing what the christian lifestyle is suspose to be like.

Mr Ervine earlier on had given us all some Red Rope...

Then he explained in the Jewish Tradition they would find a Goat...and confess all their sins onto the red rope and then place the rope around the Goats head...and it would run away...they's discard it some where.

So we all had our rope as rememberance thing, he came up with this slogan..."THE ESCAPEGOAT"...Why...

Read:Lev 16:22

" The goat will caryy on itself al their sins o a solitary place; and the man shall release it in the desert..."

Read: Pslam 103:12

"as dar as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgression from us..."...

Cool hey.

SO Mr IRVINE Acutally brought in a real GOAT...it was sooo cute...sooo little and he dangled some red rope on his head...and the owner had it follower her out the door...lol. Everyone was laughing and clapping. It was brillant. Mum and is sorta had our suspiciouns that he would do that. lol.

So yeh the serman was on HOW DID GOD PREPARE FOR GOOD FRIDAY, WHO IS JEUSUS ON GOOD FRIDAY and HOW DO I RESPOND TO GOOD FIRDAY....Celebrate my Forgivness.

EHEHE.

AUSWOME. Loved it.
