Ahhh... sitting at the airport in Boston. And very glad that I wasn't trying to fly out yesterday, apparently all flights were cancelled due to super high winds and terrible weather in general. The weather's still awful but hopefully the flight home won't be delayed too much.
I have decided that I simply must come back to visit sometime when I am not working and enjoy this place. Seems half not bad. :D I must say that I am very glad I didn't end up going to Dartmouth though. It's so in the middle of nowhere; I'd have gone insane. They do have a great system of medical centers and research hospitals though; which is totally weird since the place is so small and so far from the cities. Nevertheless, literally thousands of people working or researching or studying or being patients and subjects are there everyday. There's even a freaking mall (of sorts) in one of the many many mazes of wings and buildings.
Heh. The 2.5 hour drive to and from the airport with 4 other people from the project team, along with countless trips to and from the hospital and meals, has proven more than entertaining. Funny how you can work with people for nearly a year and not really know them until you go on travel together. Apparently I am the crazy one with all the good stories. What they don't really know is that I am terrible at telling stories.. and jokes... I guess my un-funny-ness is all relative and I am rather entertaining when surrounded by older engineers and MDs. OR maybe I was the only one willing to embarrass myself for the sake of laughter and good times.
No matter. I now have invitations and contacts to go visit fun people in Scotland, San Diego, Southampton, and Hanover (NH). If only I had time/vacation to do so.
