I have been enjoying a large amount of animation recently, of all sorts. From low-grade elementary school flip book animation to flash, cg and claymation. I have been doodling a lot and really want to start making my own show, like a cartoon or claymation. I really like the style of south park. Anyways, I am gonna let my doodling mature and see what ideas I come up with.
I was thinking of a boy in NYC, who gets lost in his uncles attic and ends up in the 1800s by going through some type of portal. However, his cellphone still works and he receives calls from the present, which can aid him in finding his way back home. The boy has a pet lizard who begins to talk to him once they are through the portal. The lizard is very insightful and has strong morals keeping the boy in check in rough situations, but no one but the boy can hear the lizard.
Can anyone point me in the direction of schooling for stop animation, claymation and other forms of animation. I have really been wanting to get into this but have no idea where to start.
