oohhh myyyy goooodddd
people are really starting to piss me off with this idea that everything used to be better in the past. i read this article where this girl says "our freedoms have been slowly degraded into oblivion since the start of the 20th century."
Everytime I read that statement I wish I knew this girl in person so I could laugh in her face.
Is she stupid? First off, our country had only been around two hundred years before that. in 1900 (the start of the 20th century) black people were still essentially slaves and women couldn't vote.
I know things suck under the bush administration, but he's not the sole reason our world is being destroyed. WE'RE doing it. OUR bad habits are doing it. All of us, collectively. Bush (and his administration) is responsible for our terrible economy and causing a lot of needless war but fuck.....
we've still got it better than people in the past.
lets just think about it:
unless you were born a rich white man your life pretty much sucked.
in the late 1600s, i probably would of been burnt at the stake. in the 1700s, i probably would have been married off to some nasty old dude and raped a lot and eventually died of some disease which is totally curable now. in the 1800s, things would of pretty much been the same except i would of had the freedom to have black slaves and do herion. are THOSE the freedoms she's talking about?!
like for real. things might look bad now but THEYVE ALWAYS BEEN BAD.
