my lj is now for memorable times that i want to document. my entry on love will come soon, but i definitely think this needs to come first.
ok, so today in my Psychology 2 class (human mind/body development) we definitely watched the first ever fiberoptic film of.... HOW A BABY IS MADE. now, im talking.. i saw details on how the egg looks, where it goes, how sperm was made, the SOUND it makes while waiting to become semen (yes, i listened to sperm), how semen was made, WHERE IT GOES, where it travels through the uterus, how one sprem reaches the egg, how egg devides cells within itself and where it travels... and finally... how the baby starts forming (i even saw it magnified when it was only 1 inch!
OOOMMMGGGG. OH and to top it off, we saw the mother of the baby, giving birth. literally.
ya know, and its not that i am grossed out and i am handling this immaturely, cuz reality is my mom was an HIV counselor back when people didnt know what AIDS was and ive pretty much known this process my whole life, but...seeing it. wow. and it made me angry how people take advantage of this beautiful process. like... yea yea, im not going to get political, but OMG. soooo man things can go wrong (not to mention according to what i saw in the video... sperm appear to be really really dumb.) but yea...it was...definitely not a way i thought i would wake up on a monday, thats for sure.
but yea... this video made history and doctors traveled all over to see it for the first time, i think maybe late 70's early 80's? iono. but yea...and THATS my baby makin story and im stickin to it!
