E-MAIL I JUST RECIEVED:
RESCUE ALERT!
Two North Shore Animal League America Emergency Rescue Teams returned from West Virginia with more than 100 dogs that were removed from the Whispering Oaks Kennel in Parkersburg, a huge puppy mill that was shut down last week.
Many of these purebred animals were being kept in cramped cages for breeding purposes and have never lived in a home before. They will need to be carefully monitored, vaccinated and spay/neutered before being put up for adoption. The Animal League will be giving adopters a special Puppy Mill Behavior Profile and Rehabilitation Guide to assist the adopters in caring for their new pets.
Stay tuned - we will send you more details about the dogs as they become ready for adoption next week.
