Hey,
So…tomorrow is my last final of one-pretty-freakin’ loooong semester. I can feel the load lifting as we speak-what a relief!
Good news! I was fortunate enough to get a job for the summer working in the ITS department at school. Guess what I’ll be doing? Sitting in front of a computer, typing shtuff in. We all know I’m an expert at that, what with my extensive experience as a lab tech in the CHP (college of health professions). Besides doing work on the computer I’ll be answering phones, too. That’ll be fun, I’m sure. So looks like this summer I’ll be a bit paler and chubbier than usual ( though I’m sure some people will be thrilled about that ; ). Lol. Beyond that I was fortunate enough to retain my tutoring position, which is awesome. Every little bit helps where tuition is concerned.
So, praise the Lord! I was pretty worried about that for a while. Thanks to everybody who was prayin’ for me on that one-you guys rawk!
I still haven’t figured out what I’ll be doing as far as my involvement with church. Turns out my job is going to conflict with the practice time for worship, which sux royally. That was what I was thinking about doing this summer. I’ll still be involved, I’m sure, playing on Sunday mornings, but I wanted to be able to actually offer more input on how things could go a little smoother, technically as well as musically. Youth group is also a no go, at least until later in the summer after classes end. Until then, I don’t really have a clue yet. I think I’ll check out a couple different college groups to see what’s available in the way of small groups or something. Maybe on the weekends I could help in some way around the church. We’ll see.
As for vacation time n’ such I was thinking that it would be downright saweet if I could get in a road trip down to Kentucky to see Fields for a weekend. He said he’d take us on a tour to the caves. Sounds good to me. Any takers?
Beyond all these things, I really hope to find time to read more. I’ve read so much over this past semester, but even reading fiction can be a little dry and annoying when its mandatory. I’m talking about reading for pure pleasure, baby! The last time I got to read a book for the fun of it was smack dab in the middle of the semester-definitely not the best time to get sucked into distractions from studying and such-“The Chocolate War”, a book I borrowed from Kris (thanks, babe : )…it was a great read and I recommend it to everyone over the age of sixteen-plus, ladies, I have to warn you that it is something of a ‘guys’ book. A little raw around the edges, if you know what I mean. Not to be chauvinistic or anything, just putting it out there…right…
Anyhoo, that’s what’s going on, what’s on the horizon. Hope everyone is finishing strong.

Brain: Pinky, get out of that woman's teacup!
