In Character Information

character name: Anthony Edward Stark - goes by Tony Stark
Fandom: Iron Man (Movieverse)
Timeline: After Iron Man 2
character's age: mid-thirties

powers, skills, pets and equipment:

Iron Man Suit - Tony will be arriving with his Iron Man suit. Since the suit is powered off of his heart, which got a recharge of epic proportions at the end of the 2nd film, the suit should be able to function fine because Tony is the power source. The suit has many capabilities. It keeps him safe during some very rough situations (like being blasted out of the sky and walking away from it). It also has some weapons like a laser cutting beam and a blast that comes out of the palm of his hand. It is also capable of flight.

Skills - His real skill is his natural genius. Tony built the Iron Man suit with the help of another during his captivity in Afghanistan, but he’s also plenty capable on scientific findings and the creation of inventions on his own.

personality:

Textbook Narcissism - According to Agent Romanov’s report, Tony Stark displays textbook narcissism. As unhinged at Tony can be at times, he couldn’t help but agree. Even Tony knows that he loves many things in life, but he ultimately loves himself! He surrounds himself with the best and if there is something he wants, he’ll have it. Growing up as the heir to a fortune and with the mind of a super-genius, it’s only natural for one to develop an ego. Tony Stark likes to flash that ego around whenever possible. Cars? He’s got it. Women? He’s got it. The adoration of a country? He’ll take that too! Being a hero has its perks, and it’s also great for stroking his pride.

Compulsive Behavior - Tony’s behavior can be described as erratic. If there’s something Tony wants to do, he’ll just do it, whether it makes sense or not. He goes with his feelings in a situation. Even if those impulses or actions don’t make sense or are downright shocking to others, Tony will go with it and won’t often regret it. He might suddenly decide he wants to go to Paris, for instance, or fly across the country for his favorite pizza place in L.A. As busy as he is at times, he has the luxury of spending a lot of his time however he desires to, so he lets his desires take hold of his every whim.

Playboy - Tony Stark lives the ultimate rich man’s life and that happens to come with bevies of beautiful women. Tony is a maniac when it comes to his interest in women. He doesn’t hide it when his interest has been piqued. He’ll blatantly flirt or just outright proposition a woman if he feels like it. The crazy thing is, with his good looks, his cocky attitude, and his wealth, there are very few women who would dream of turning him down. Now that he’s in a semi-stable relationship with one woman though, Tony will have to somehow curb his tendencies.

Morality - Under all of the bluster of Tony’s ego, it turns out he actually does have a heart (even if it’s ironically replaced with a false one). When Tony found out his weapons were being used to hurt American soldiers, his rosy glasses were shattered and he began to feel personally responsible for the lives lost. He suddenly turned over the function of his company, which upset all the stake-holders. Tony didn’t care though, because he believed stopping weapons production was the right thing to do. He also took up the role of a super hero to save others, and at the end of the second film, he showed a real desire to be part of the Avengers because of his desire to ultimately do something good with his life.

why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting?

Tony Stark is amazing and he can be in any setting he wants, because he’s cool like that. Really. What makes you think he can’t handle it? He’s the man. Being thrown back into a Victorian-style-era might be a little annoying, since it’ll lack technology, but at the same time it’ll be a challenge he will work to overcome.

Network Post Sample:

[The feed turns on to show a very confused looking man.]

Uh.. hello? Yes, is this thing on?

[He taps the device with one finger.]

I think there’s been some kind of mistake.

When I said I wanted something rustic, I was thinking more along the lines of a mountain getaway, maybe Aspen, a snowy backdrop and a dirty martini. This is a little too Charles Dickens for me.

Remind me to fire my travel agent.

And hire a new one.

Did I have a travel agent?

This vacation is a complete do-over.

How did I even get here?

Third Person Sample:

The concept of stepping through time or a portal of some kind that could throw him to an unknown destination wasn’t really beyond Tony’s grasp. Actually, he was a man with a mind far more open than most. Not everyone would be able to drive a company into the century as he had. When people said it couldn’t be done, Tony always thought of that as a challenge. Maybe he just liked to prove them wrong.

When it came to the universe, there were laws. He knew that. For instance, what goes up, must come down. He’d learned that through many personal experiences. But he also had a lot of experience bending and breaking those laws, just by means of science. A person didn’t become a success without breaking some rules now and again.

Magic, on the other hand, was.. a bit more of a stretch, but even if people called it magic that didn’t mean he couldn’t seek some logical means behind it. The idea of things just popping out of thin air didn’t entirely sit well with him, but after the twists and turns his life had taken, not to mention the potential strangeness SHIELD had to offer.. maybe he’d revisit those notions in the future.

For now, as he stood in front of the gate that had brought him here, he watched worlds pass by before his eyes. Tony was puzzled yet fascinated. It was a great state of mind to be in. It always got his juices flowing. The creative kind, of course.

He paced around the gate and then, once he stopped in front of it, he jaunted through with a single hop. Landing on the other side he tilted his head. “Tingly.” But very interesting. Was this a technology that he could bring back to his own world? It could potentially do a lot of good.

“I just have to figure out how you work,” he said, eyeing the gate with a raised brow.

Anything else? ...Anything else? :D
