I understand that you are a man of science, so this should not be a difficult task. I would like you to oversee the construction of an observatory.
It is to commemorate the two years Priscilla has spent in this city. She often watches the sky and I want to give her a means to watch it more closely.
You will, of course, be paid whatever you require. As long as the project remains private until it is completed.
Then let us not speak of difficulty or impossibilities. Either you can do it, or you cannot. And so far it appears as though you mean to tell me that you can.
That is all that matters.
Its size and strength I will leave up to your creative interpretation, so long as it is not small and weak. As for where it should be located, I have given this some careful consideration. I believe it would be best placed near the docks where there are less obstructions and there is more sky to see.
[Tony has good instincts. Isley is a detestable man...sometimes. A detestable man that does nice things for his girlfriend and people he plays favorites with. Unless it's the kind of favorites he likes to eat...but let's not go there.]
Half upfront you'll have, then. What is your price?
[Blood money, baby. That's what they call it.]
Just make sure that if you work fast, it is done proper. I will hold you personally accountable if there are any accidents due to shoddy workmanship.
[Tony will quote him an overall price that's.. a bit high but not astronomical. Whatever would be considered that in this world!]
I'll send you building plans for the facility in the morning. If there's anything else special you want added, let me know. If it looks good, get your construction crew on it and I'll oversee the work. Naturally, I'll build the telescope myself and any other components you want to go along with it.
[Having an observatory around could actually be in handy, so Tony considers this a win-win.]
The library is stocked with books detailing the astronomy of the Sphere, Tony Stark. Admittedly, I have not seen books on specific planets but for this one, but there are countless that document the stars and specific constellations of this world. It should suffice for now.
Although, it would be interesting if you could manage to incorporate planet and star maps from other worlds as well. Such things might be useless to us here, but they would be no less fascinating. Books on those can likely be found at the Found Goods store.
[He sighs.]
The construction is dedicated to Priscilla, but I wish for the this place to ultimately be of use to others as well.
I would like to hire you for a private project.

And who exactly is placing this order?

And if you think the task is impossible, I will find another who may not be so quick to disappoint.

I'm just pointing out something obvious. Have you considered where you want to put it? How big you want it? How powerful you want the telescope to be?

It won't come cheap. And I'll want half of my pay upfront.
[That should settle him and Pepper in their own place quite nicely.]
But you'll get your observatory. I work fast, too. Wouldn't want to keep your girlfriend waiting for her present.

[The price is agreed to.]
You will have it just as soon as we are finished our discussion here, and then I can send someone with the payment.
[Isley lightly drums his fingertips atop a solid surface.]
I would like the observatory to have an attached planetarium. Do you have any suggestions yourself for what else might be included?

[He's a bit amused.]
I'll do what I can.
Sorry, only you can tell me what your girlfriend would like. I'm still trying to remember what mine likes.

[Isley's tone could not possibly get any drier.]

Don't worry, it'll be worthy of your lady-love.

The construction itself might be best left until after this new threat has passed. I will give you the names of the crew then.
I think that is all.
