I hope you all had a good trick or treating, including Andrew, for who I hope he didn't get lost at Meijers. :-)
But talking about Andrew, he wrote this comment on my last entry, that he watched a report on TV that some european country tries to get rid of Halloween. And I got very interested in that, because first of all it's so stupid to get rid of Halloween, and second of all I wanted to know the reasons for doing so, if there was really somebody wanting a whole nation to get "rid" of it.
So I researched a little, and I think the country you where talking about was Austria. Because I found an article about an austrian major who tries forbids Halloween in his town/village/whereever this fucker is coming from. Here a (translated) quote from this article:
" "Bad american habbit"
To go from house to house to beg for candy at Halloween is a bad habbit, is an american ritual and has nothing to do in our cultural circuits, so major Hans Kohler from Rankweiler."
Fuck you man! Who are you to call Halloween a "bad habbit"? As a major you should represent the population of your town, and not your own beliefs. And I don't think there are no kids in "Rankweiler" who don't want candy and some fun. And even there aren't any, then, Mr. Kohler, you have the wrong town. talking about your town, what name is that anyway? Rankweiler. Holy shit, if you would name it "Fuckabitch" it would sound better!
..but anyway. So to conclude: I don't think there's a whole country turning against Halloween, because that would first of all be stupid, and second of all not realizable. But there can be towns or counties against Halloween, as a matter of fact.
Ok, that was my scientific research on Halloween....hahaha :-)
