*waves hello to people and apologises for the general lack of postings recently*
Right, it was an odd year, full of the usual collection of highs and not so highs that make life so much fun.
1. I had one of those (apparently) significant birthdays which was very amusing, allowing me to engage in a number of my favourite hobbies, namely Lego, zombies and carousing. I did get the best birthdaypresent in the form of a Lego Millenium Falcon... oh, did I not mention the Star Wars obsession before...
2. I saw in 2009 in the same place I saw in 2008, the Hobgoblin, a home from home (probably too much on some occasions!). It's good to have somewhere where everyone knows your name and what you drink. Unfortunately them remembering how much of an arse you occasionally make when drunk is just something that goes with the terrority!
3. After a slow start at the beginning of the year I had a whole range of things done on the house which were necessary as they were all the things I couldn't do myself. 2009 should see the house turning into more of a home rather than a collection of items in a number of rooms. This year; Egyptian themed rooms is the plan :)
4. Work has been interesting in places. Some changes make me less sure that it's the place I want to be. However, given the current economic climate, I will behave myself whilst I see what else is out there. There are far worse places to work.
5. No resolutions, just vague plans about stuff. Get in touch with people, go see other people, all that sort of thing. Beyond that it's just a need to get house stuff done.
6. On on the highpoints of 2008 was definitely going out to Washington DC for two weeks; Hallowe'en, the election, lots of time walking around places I know from dozens of films, and getting to code stuff with an Enigma machine. Yes, I can be something of a cryptogeek!
7. Oh, and here starts the regular alcohol break for a little bit. Not a resolution, just one of things I do on a semi regular basis.
