BBC Dracula

Yesterday the BBC showed off their Dracula adaption with Mark Warren as the lead man, David Suchet as Van Helsing, and Sophie Myles as Lucy.

It appears that it was adapted by reading the book, keeping some of the main story, throwing out huge chunks of it, and adding in some stuff to fit with their particular slant on it.

I thought it very bad. I liked the idea of him coming to London for a specific reason but other than that, thought the changes were superfluous.

Was amused by the fact that BBC were using the syphilis angle to try to sex up the dracula story, implying it was going to be a raunchy adaptation - I hardly think so!
