[He's huddled on a bench, knees drawn to his chin, arms around them to try futilely to keep himself warm. His hood is up, but he makes no effort to shove all that white hair back into it, letting it curl at the tips where the snow catches in it and melts slowly.
Why is he here? He settled here ages ago. The wood beneath him feels like it too is brittle, frozen through in the darkness and the cool breeze.
The streetlamp above him gives a flicker, as if it too is frozen and unsure what it's doing. He shifts marginally, but otherwise does not move -- instead he simply watches the steam he's exhaling, and counts the seconds.]

[Karen's walking back to work. She's wearing a thick coat over her "work clothes", which really isn't much. But she has ways of keeping herself warm. She'll manage.
[He's huddled up quietly, but when the woman approaches him, he looks up to her face. She's kindly, and he nods. For a moment he doesn't say anything, thinking hard instead about what it is he means to say to her.]
I'll survive. I'm not going to freeze to death. [Honestly, he seems to be quite content to sit here alone. It's a little bit pathetic, to be completely honest.]
[ His sneakers actually aren't much for this kind of weather -- not to mention that he's had to change out his normal wardrobe for a pair of jeans and a hoodie, and neither one is all that warm. So, it goes without saying that he's in a hurry to get back to his place --
-- but when he sees that familiar form hunched over on a bench, it's enough to make him shift his course. Bros before snows, dude. So, he brushes the snow off of the other half of the bench and sits down beside him, shoving both hands into the kangaroo pocket of his hoodie to warm up. And then, after clearing his throat awkwardly, there's a: ] ... Hey.
[Neku always goes to an effort to make things seem like "no big deal" -- Riku knows better, at least most of the time. Today is no different, and though he's cold, he can't help but give a little, tiny smile. Nobody could have any idea whether it's a happy one or not, though.
He turns his head, shifts his arms from their position around his knees to simply propped up on them.]
[Riku doesn't move for a long time. Ven's question hangs in the air, and for a moment it seems like he's gone to sleep or he's dropped dead where he's sitting.
No, he's simply processing the scents and feelings that this man brings with him. He's organizing it in his mind -- this is not Roxas is still an oddly new sensation to him. He's known it for a long time, but he still has a hard time with it.
So he simply doesn't reply, not until he gets things organized in his head, which takes nearly a minute.
[No little twitches, no actions at all except sitting quietly come from the boy on the bench as Ven moves to collect the newspapers and settle back beside him.
He doesn't look up to the boy, just... watches the headlines devoured by the flames for a moment or so more before replying. He doesn't move, even so, just watches the fire.]
