The following is a transcript (original spelling retardations intact) of a letter I wrote to myself on June 8th, 1999. The letter was delivered to me today, by my sixth grade teacher Mr. Dean Spencer, exactly six years later, on my 18th birthday:

Hello, it's me (you) in the sixth grade. I've only been at BB+N 1 year, but you've been their 7. I'm the smartest kid in the class (as always) so I hope you still are. Nothing happened on 1-1-00, right? Didn't think so. Let me guess, somebody with an "e" in , their first name is president, right? Didn't think so, no wait I did. I was right, right? Didn't thi- SHUT UP! ok... You better still like the Simpsons. By, the way, it's our birthday today. Oh, oh, oh do kids still think we're cool because of the Phantom Menace thing. Cool. [note this next sentence is in very small writing.]I hope Alexandra likes me. Do I have a girlfriend now?... Ben Bonte is my best friend. I'm having a riverside/spy-who-shagged-me/sleep-over party in a week and I'm inviting Ben, Justin and Nils. I hate Adam-- he's not smart. I'm pretty cool. Whoa, Eric's like 23 now. Wow. And you, by I am are 18. But you won't really be 15 until 3:45 PM. Wait a minute, are you reading this on the 8th? Well, if you are, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Oh my god. First of all, still bff w/ ben. mmm some things never change. and then there's justin... some things change. I love that I was obsessed w/ Al and she didn't even know I existed. SO can't hardly wait. And don't forget about the "Ta!" finish. Ohhhhhhh, girl. CLEARLY, you had no say in the decision making process whatsoever did you. hmmmmmm
