Dream job
I took the wrong road to get here, perhaps, but I'd say what I've got going on right now is my dream occupation.
I mean, I get to help defend the universe, I'm part of a great team; I get to tinker with alien technology, develop new tech for us, see astonishing worlds, meet amazing people and, er, things...
The best thing about it however, is even though the people I work with know my past -- heck some of them were around for it -- they have let me re-earn their trust and confidence, let me prove myself to be one of the "good guys" again. I mean, really, how many places, after you completely fuck up, let you pay your dues, then take you back and give you the opportunity to advance yourself? To start all over again and go further than perhaps you would have been able to before?
So, yeah, living the dream as it were...
