Food Mule
I've decided to become a food mule to pay for the trip to the States. It is amazing how expensive it is to get American food here, and how willing people are to pay for it. For example, the cheapest I have seen a box of Lucky Charms go for is £9, which is almost $18! If I smuggle 100 over and sell them, then I will have more than paid for my trip. Too bad they're bulky. Kool-aid is also a good one. For a mix of 72 sachets it costs £40. That is a good return. I just have to stay away from food that I would want to eat myself, like Mac and cheese. It's a shame that the returns aren't so good going from UK to the US, otherwise I would do it both ways.
