Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox story is finally on DVD. The extras alone are worth the price, and the movie itself is just as funny as it was the first time around. I was disappointed when the film failed to make a splash at the box office during its initial run in theaters, but I'm confident that it'll become a cult classic like Office Space or Austin Powers.
There Will Be Blood is also on DVD. Even if you aren't crazy about the plot, the film is so haunting that you'll be thinking about it for days after, regardless of whether or not its your first time seeing it. The two disc special edition doesn't offer all that much other than a very sleek packaging and a few deleted scenes. I'd avoid it if you were looking to save money and aren't obsessed with such things like I am.
Jeffrey Brown just released a new graphic-novel/memoir called Little Things. Despite having written at least three books on the subject, I still think his relationship stories are his strong point, so I'm not reading through this one as quickly as I did Clumsy or Unlikely. The stories in this book are more focused on ordinary life (car accidents, camping trips), but lack the cerebral complexity of similar works by Harvey Pekar. Still, I love Jeffrey and I'd buy just about anything he'd publish unless it was a book entirely about cats.
