pans, ;)

Things were far too weird with Potter gone. They were highly enjoyable, but nonetheless, weird. He was so used to seeing the black-haired boy angsting about that Cormac felt downright off when in the Common Room. Pushing his bag away, he decided that he'd risk a walk to the Library. Curfew wasn't for a little bit, and he'd been meaning to take out ( Read more... )

At the sound of Cormac's voice, Pansy glanced up and rolled her eyes. It had been days since they'd talked (thankfully) and she'd finally gotten over what she'd done to him. Now he was back to just being annoying.

She shut the book that was in her hands, having been turning the pages in search of something between them. Straightening up, Pansy brought the book against her stomach.

"And here I was, thinking you'd finally given up on me. I guess I'm not that lucky."

"Not my fault you're stalking me," he told her, as he casually leaned himself against the wall beside her. He nodded his head with a smirk, looking her up and down.

"Though, I suppose it could be worse," he added, knowing full well she could see what he was doing.

Though secretly feeling very smug, Pansy yet again rolled her eyes. He was so despicable. It was rather endearing. Er, wait no - that wasn't right.

"If you'll excuse me," she started dryly. "I have something that needs to be taken care of."

With that, she turned and went into the library, opening the book back up to flip through the pages again as she did.

He watched her as she walked off, smiling to himself, quite happy with what he was seeing. So what if she was a Slytherin? She had a really nice arse. As the doors swung shut behind her, he realized she had gone into the library.

He let out another chuckle before going in after her.

"You can't get rid of me that easily, Pans."

"I thought I was the one stalking you," Pansy muttered as she trifled through the last few pages. Annoyed by her failure at finding what she was looking for, she snapped the book shut and continued on towards the front desk.

Dropping the book off, she didn't skip a beat and headed straight into the stacks.

Cormac looked down to the sheet of paper Gosford had passed him, and moved to the appropriate stack. As he shuffled through the books, he noticed Pansy's brown head. She was on the other side of the stack.

He peeked through, grinning smugly.

"Merlin, we've got to stop meeting like this!"

Reaching through the shelf, Pansy pushed his face away before taking a few more steps to the side. Her eyes traveled over the book titles, but she didn't even know what she was looking for.

This is pointless. Why am I even wasting my time?

But maybe some good could come out of her being there.... After all, Cormac would always be useful for hex practice.

A book snapped at his nose, and he moved his head back irritated. Pushing the books about, he finally found the title he was looking for, and pulled it out with ease.

"Ah ha!" he said, holding it out in from of him. "I finally found you. You know, Gosford said I was an interesting fellow today! I rather think he likes me."

He didn't even care that he wasn't actually talking to anyone.

Hearing Cormac talking and knowing that there wasn't anyone else around, Pansy peeked around the corner with one eyebrow raised in an expression that clearly stated that she thought he was bloody mental.

"Everyone likes you. After all, you are the McLaggenator," she said sarcastically. Pansy rounded the corner fully and began to slowly peruse the books now in front of her, her footsteps gradually leading her closer in his direction.

He looked up at her, grinning from ear to ear.

"I knew you'd admit your true feelings someday."

"Ugh, please," Pansy replied, waving her hand absently at him. Her eyes didn't leave the lines of books, though her mind wasn't on what they were called. She was plotting.

"Try not to flatter yourself too much. You might start to overflow and I can't say I want any of your nastiness on my shoes."

"You wouldn't be able to resist any part of me," he told her. He kept his tone casual as he walked past her, his shoulder brushing softly against her's.

He flipped open the book, peering down at the worn pages, though his mind was certainly not on what was before him.

"You know its true." His voice was barely above a whisper, though he was sure she could hear him.

That caused her gaze to flicker over in his direction, though her head remained forward. Smirking slightly, Pansy reached up and grabbed a random book from the shelf.

She put it back after a moment and took a few steps farther away from him, her hands now clasped behind her back.

"I think I've done pretty good so far. I think I can carry on just as easily."

"You're miserable," he said, smirking in his usual way. "You can't go a day without thinking about me, and I know it's just making you crazy."

He shut the book with a smack, and spun around to look at her slyly.

"I have to admit, you do make me crazy," Pansy said with a cool smile. Turning to face him, her eyes went up and down him once before stopping at the book in his hands.

"Don't you have a book to check out?" she asked pointedly.

His forehead wrinkled and he grinned widely, looking almost cute with his knit cap on. He looked down to the advanced potions book under his arm and nodded his head.

"That I do," he replied, genuinely amused. "You're not already looking out for me, are you, Pans?"
