PJ has been gone on his "tour of Pennsylvania" since last Tuesday now. He is pimping it hardcore boping from festival to festival while making a stop in Pittsburgh to do re shoots on the web series he worked on last fall. I am here in Glendale keeping the home fires burning. But I am super excited to get to meet up with him next week to celebrate 4th of July Cannonsburgh style.
I've kept pretty busy since PJ left town. This is an improvement from my usual behavior of moping around like a lost puppy while he's gone. I still miss him, but I've had plenty to do. Between work and personal chores that needed catching up on as well as hanging out with some friends I'm feeling pretty spunky.
I saw "The Hangover" with Jenny the other night. It was pretty funny. Not quite as pee in your pants funny as I expected, but amusing non the less. I did almost get hit in the head with a slushy drink that dropped from one story above me. Ouch, that would have hurt. Luckily it fell about a foot away from me, so all I got was a bunch of slushy drink on my pants. Still sucked, but at least I didn't end up with "death by slushy" written on my tombstone. It reminded me of that TV show "Dead Like Me" where people get killed in all sorts of weird ways, like getting hit in the head by a toilet that falls from outer space. I think "death by slushy" would have been the equivalent of that.
Today I went hiking up Echo Mountain with Jenny, Sarah and Brian. It was a freakin awesome hike. The hike takes you up to the ruins of a hotel that burned down in 1900. It was only open for 6 years. The foundation and stairs are still there. We even found a bed post that had to have been from the hotel. There used to be a tram that would take you up the side of the hill to the hotel. The giant wheel and the tracks are still there. Here is us posing on the giant wheel.
Oh yes! I almost forgot! Last weekend was the Playhouse West Film Festival. It was great to finally get to go to a festival, most of the ones we have been in have been out of town and thus I have not been able to go. So I must admit, I was feeling a bit excluded from the action. It makes me so proud and happy to be there to support PJ. So I was glad I could at least go to one. Our actress won Best Actress for Rooftop, so that was pretty exciting. And a lot of folks seemed to really enjoy the movies. This is PJ, our actress and Allison with the fancy new award.
Now, relaxation then bed. I am pooped from that hike today!
