so i was just thinking about the topic of conversation upon my arrival back to the states, what is it like to live in paris. now i really didn't have that great of an answer, or at least it's because i never really stopped and thought about what it was like to live here... so here is a brief account of a week of being in paris without school getting in the way.
tueday, 11 jan 2005- after an agonizing 10+ hours of flying, i get to my wonderful home, check my mailbox which, to my surprise =-O had mail that was somrthing other than bills, a present from claudia in austria. then i got home, opened the fridge (which was empty just as i had left it) and i slept...from 12h00 until 14h30 the next day (Wednesday)
Wednesday, 12 jan 2005- after waking up in the afternoon, i decide today would be the day to go grocery shopping! so i do that...after cleaning up my room, bathroom and kitchen (none of which really were dirty just a bit dusty..) and off to FRANPRIX my food distributer! i come home and decide to cook some dinner and end up watching french television until the wee hours of thursday morning... (2h30 about)
Thursday, 13 jan 2005- this day was spent wondering why my parents had not called me (yeah niether mommy nor daddy...grrr) so i waited for a decent hour to call them and communicate myself with them...then i came to the realization that all fones everywhere a fucked up! you can't get great connection neither in france nor in the states (quel dommage!) oh well no country is perfect...well except for MAYBE switzerland. later on that day i went to the station to pick up my friend avril. we ate dinner near notre dame and went home, we had a loooooooooong day ahead of us.
friday, 14 jan 2005- shopping shopping shopping all day long. i love french sales. they last the entire month and you end up saving a lot of money. (this makes up for the lack of sales the rest of the year, well except in june) oh yeah i also checked into my classes today...
saturday, 15 jan 2005- another wonderful day of shopping (for avril's groceries) and then movie night. Bridget Jones' diary is very funny! followed by pizza and beer, and then a day without a mexican.
sunday, 16 jan 2005- last day of freedom...what to do what to do??? i know, sleep in!!! and then a nice dinner at the latin quarter!
so i lead a very simple life here in paris. i don't go to the museums, usually, i rarely go to the interesting sites, and i spend a lot of time in my appartment or shopping...not really all that different from my life back in the states but the thing is that i have already seen most of the sites, been to the museums (well two main ones) and i was also making up for lost sleep.
