At college...
Wow, where to begin??? So, I'm at college. I don't think it's completely hit me yet, the fact that I'm going to be here for the whole year. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it yet. It's a little overwhelming. Don't get me wrong...I do like it here, but I don't know, we shall see.
I have 3 roommates: Allyson, Julie, and Kristina. Two of them are from Mass. and one is from Rhode Island. I think that might affect my speech (<-right word?) though. I remember when my family went on a cruise that left from NY, the majority of people on the ship were from New York. After that cruise, I went around for like a month or so with a NY accent. I just seem to pick up the accents of whoever I'm with. So with my roommates, I feel a little accent coming on, it's weird. They also use some words that I haven't heard, like 'wicked' and 'sick.' So, yeah. They're awesome though. And since there's 4 of us, we got 2 rooms (don't let that fool you though). We got really lucky though...we all get along really well and it's just...well...nice. We have air conditioning in the room where we sleep which is nice too. So, yeah, they're awesome.
My classes are going well for the most part. I might switch into a different math class and my western civ. class is pretty boring, but the others are nice. I love my soc. class! My professor is awesome. I'm really excited about that class!!
There are two other freshman from Wootton here, Adam and Adam. It's nice having them here. I have a couple classes with one of them, which is really cool. Also, last night, I found out that there are these 2 other guys from home who go here...one happens to live in the house right behind me. But, both of them have gone to school with me since like kindergarten, they're a year older. It's cool...or at least it should be. On the day we moved in, I also found out that my friend, Lisa, from camp is going here. We were both speechless when we saw each other. It was awesome!!! I love her!!!
Along with the whole thing where I don't think it's hit me that I'm here for the whole year, and the fact that I'm a freshman, comes the homesick stuff. I'm not homesick, but I do miss home...my family, friends, car, house, job, etc. I also miss my camp!! I was there for the whole summer, basically, and now I'm not...I don't know how much I like that. There's also specific people who I think about when I hear something, see something, any of that stuff...that reminds me of them. Yesterday, one of my roomies was missin' her friends from home so we talked about it...and it just got me thinking about all this stuff. I do like it here, don't get me wrong...but, yeah.
Well, I think I'm gonna go now. But, I shall write more later. I miss you guys and hope you're doing well. Please let me know what's going on with all of you guys. Also let me know where you are...if you're in a different school than you were last year (like college). Please keep in touch! Take care!!
