a pathetic attempt to make things right :o)twobluecoinsSeptember 8 2004, 19:40:13 UTC
Hey Britta! ...First of all, a massive apology to you is in order. I'm SO SORRY. Honestly, this whole thing has just become a big mess that nobody really wants to deal with. To clear the air, here's what's gone on: Last week, Ms. T told James and I that Spirit Week was planned... that just caught us a little off-guard since our entire platform was an improved Spirit Week. In our defense, this entire year is just really new and crazy... in my four years on Student Council, things have never been run this way. We're all still trying to adjust. So, Ms. T told James and I to go to Mr. Trapani with any improvements we wanted to make. We werent drastically changing yours at all (and at this point, we werent even aware that you were the one doing the planning...) So, we went in with various proposals... From what we were told, the only things that had been planned was that shirt day on Wednesday and Blue and Gold Day on Friday. We were just trying to stay true to our promise of improving Spirit Week to the student body. And (just so you're not upset with either of us) today, James and I had absolutely nothing to do with your posters being taken down. James, Caroline, and I were just approached and asked who had put them up... None of us had any idea, but after reading your livejournal, I know that you did them... and I know how much work things like that are... and I'm sorry. I assure you, I'm every bit as lost as you are. We honestly werent trying to keep you out of the loop or anything. We were never told that we needed to contact you... It was our assumption that it was Ms. T's work and that we needed to try to fix things now that she'd left. We've been just as out of the loop... trust me. Maybe even more. I seriously love you to death, Britta... I think you're such an incredibly sweet girl... PLEASE believe me when I say that none of this was personal... It's all a result of a severe lack of communication between all parties involved... James and I, you, and Ms. Taylor... In all fairness NOBODY was communicating with James or I, either... so we know how you feel. As the presidents, we were told when we signed on for this that one of our responsibities is to organize Spirit Week. That's all we were trying to do. Had we known about your work and everything that had gone into it, I promise you, we would've talked to you and worked with you. Again, I apologize for the lack of communication. (I tried calling you around 8, but I think I have the wrong number unless you live with someone named Ricardo. haha) I hope there are no hard feelings. I feel terrible about this whole thing. Anyone who knows me knows that intentionally hurting another person's feelings is the last thing I would ever do. Hopefully this whole thing will work itself out and we'll be able to have better communication in the future. Again, I'm sorry... and I'm so grateful for all your hard work. You're awesome, Britta! -Linds
