I started exploring BDSM quite a while after getting interested through knowing Dom and really only started my exploration after I joint adult friend finder and from there alt.com. I am so glad I did :) and am stll on both sites. But the male contacts I get tend to divide into two groups (apart from from a few rare people), either they are well spoken, write wonderful e-mails and appear to be fairly interesting but are at least 20 years older than me (I am not interested in guys of a different generation) or younger men who simply do not know how to approach a female, let alone a sub. I don't really appreciate being told I am good breeding stock (from one particular guy) and the ones who just write and tell me they would like to beat me up, make me their slave or rape/abuse me are, to be quite honest, just scarey. Obviously, I am generalising, but there seem to be few sane male Doms of my age. It is quite strange.
Why do you think this is? I remember reading somewhere about how female subs tend to enter this lifestyle in their late twenties and male Doms in their thirties, although this seems far too generalised to me. I don't know if there is a similar disparity between female Doms and male subs. Does it just come down to maturity levels?
