Sue and I are safely home after a most wonderful weekend at OVFF. This was the first Con in a while where we could relax and enjoy the music and hang out with friends. Lots of old frieinds and plenty of new ones and some surprises like Katy and Steve :-O We got to see Tim the school teacher who we last saw at Conchord where we were Interfilk Guests this year and he is such a nice guy and a wonderful performer. Then there was the Utah group of filkers who I believe were attending their first Filk Con. A big highlight for us was the Stone Dragons being asked to perform "We're Canadian and We're Sorry" in Kathleen's concert. Thank you Kathleen! The other was getting to hang out with my son Gundo and playing Barry's double neck Washburn (he wouldn't sell it to me :-() and hearing Dene from Ghost of a Rose and our good friends Sasafrass! Ghost of a Rose will be Interfilk guests next year at FKO. Then there was the UT concert and getting to give them all roses. Their concert was fabulous and I never get tired of hearing and watching them perform. Oh and the "Squirrel Song" with Walter being dragged to the floor by a stuffed squirrel :-D Seeing my good buddy Paul Kwinn was a big plus and then he won a Pegasus!!! Wahooo!!! Big Hugs and congratulations Paul and all the winners. Another highlight was seeing Sooj perform "Fire in the Sky" in the Pegasus Concert and I knew she would do a great job but she out did herself this time and it is definitely the best version I have ever heard and I have heard a lot of them. My friend Jordin Kare would be proud and he now has a well deserved Pegasus. If this wasn't enough, my good friends Katy and Ju won for "A Thousand Ships" which is one of my favourites. A much deserved hug and congrats to both of you. I have attached a few pictures and I just want to thank the OVFF Concom and staff for a fantastic weekend of music and we hope to see some of you at FKO next year.
