Sorry we could not make OVFF this year but congratulations to all the well deserved Pegasus Winners. Especially big hugs to my Toronto friends Heather and Ben! Wahoooo!!! And way to go Brooke !!!!!!!! Also hugs to Talis Kimberley!!!!! I love that song and it is well deserved! See you next year at Duckon in Chicago!!!!
We attended a wonderful House Filk last weekend for all the filkers here who could not make it to OVFF. We had a fantastic time and Sue and I got to debut some new originals "Dragon's Lair", "Stone Dragons", "April's Lament" and "Our Fair City" plus a found filk by Great Big Sea "Walk on the Moon". Our new website is www.stonedragons.ca and is still in the process of being put together but come in and check what we have so far. Karen Linsley came out as well and performed a number of new songs she has written, with Phil and I backing her on guitar, mandolin, cittern etc. She is sounding and writing as good as ever and we are all happy to see her gettiing back to what she does best.. Dave Clement's friend Rick from Toronto came out as well and knocked everyone's socks off with a found filk song I can' remember the title of but which was awesome. Rick and Dave were friends in Toronto 40 years ago when they were going to University and they also played in a group here.
This Thursday a bunch of us are going out to see Rick perform with his band Windy Ridge at the Honest Lawyer.
Last month Sue and I performed in Montreal again at Concept which is one of the reasons we were not able to afford to got to OVFF. Also my sister was visiting us from Thunderbay. Life is good and the weather here is still nice.
