Not Good News I'm Afraid,,

My sister & I went with my mother yesterday to the specialist to get the report on the "pet scan" she had earlier this month & it wasn't the news we were looking for:(
Not only does she have the lumps in her lung, but now some "lymph glands" are showing cancerous signs in her chest, so that means IF it's cancer it's already moving & even the doctor was surprised by the pet scan results. She now has to have a biopsy done asap & they will cut just below the throat, insert a camera & take a biopsy of the lymph gland, send it away for testing & if it comes back as cancer they will not perform the operation on her lung, just start her straight away on chemo or radiation, as they need to stop it from spreading. We asked the Dr for her professional opinion & she thinks we should prepare ourselves for the worse outcome, but there is always hope, this time I don't think so *cries*
My dear Mum will go next Fri to see the surgeon he will then admit her & perform the biopsy, very quickly we're hoping & from there we will have to wait & see. As you can imagine this is a very distressing time & telling my children will be even more so. They adore their Nanny Vicky, I have no idea what to tell them.

Sorry I didn't reply to all the lovely comments last time I posted,,but the kids go back to school tomorrow yay!! & now I'll have a bit more free time, I have been run off my feet.
