For the latest round at 20inspirations, the mods decided to throw a strange curve...by having all participants complete a traditional 20in20 batch! We were provided with 10 interpretative themes as well as a category theme for a set of 5 icons (in this case, obscure crops) and then given free reign over the last 5 pieces, known as artist's choice icons. You did a great job on those!, I like the deep coloring. I make icons too, like the one I'm using for this comment but mine stink so I usually don't bother posting them*lol*. Again nice job on those. :)

Thanks for your lovely compliment! I don't see what's so bad about your own icon. I rather enjoy all the darkness surrounding Lou and how it contrasts with the shine in his cheeks and forehead! How long have you been making icons? I've been at it for 5 years now, and I don't always love my results, but the process that goes into creating those tiny boxes is so much fun and allows me to be creative, which is the best part! :D

Thanks!, I appreciate the kind words. I couldn't remember when I started making icons*lol* so I checked my icon folder and the oldest is dated 2004. So makes nine years!, wow it doesn't seem like its been that long. I'd say I've improved a lot in the making, I usually just make bases. I know how to use textures so I like using them to add color, I totally suck at text which is why I hardly make any. I prefer to use icons by other makers, they're much more talented then me. :)

Whoa, you've been making icons for almost a decade? That is crazy awesome! Text is so tough, dude. I never seem progress much in that area even though I've been working with text ever since I first began making icons. Not gonna stop trying though! Do you post your icons anywhere? I'd love to check them out if you care to share them. I know some makers are shy or just not interested in putting their work out there though so if it's something you just do privately to relieve stress or let out creative energy, I totally understand! :)
