I loved the original icon you gave me, so I knew I had to spin it to give it a fresh look rather than making something too similar. Muted and natural colorings will probably be my major targets of improvement for 2013, so it's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the softer, subtler coloring in the remake! And yes, #20 is an alt for that remake. I almost went with that version cuz it's completely different from the original piece, but I thought the soft pink one translated the line structure better.
LJ is being weird to everyone but me apparently cuz I'm the only one who can see all the damn icons here! It's so weird! I am over the moon that you like the Kate icon for beatsagain's original requested piece. I kept tweaking the coloring til I got most of the pink and purple out so that it would look more natural. The remake for raiindust's request is probably my fave thing here even if it's quite similar to the original in coloring scheme and texture use. OMG. Trying to make the text less painful to the eyes in #25 was an irksome chore! I don't know how -phaust manages to make it look effortless!
I may cry cuz #36-37 didn't turn out quite how I wanted, and I thought someone would say the texture is swallowing him up. I'm so thrilled that you like it! #46 is way quieter than my usual coloring, so it's great to get feedback on that and on #41 as well.
