First, Complementary's color and composition is fabulous. The white space on the side and the stripe down the middle make it more than just a two-tone colored icon. I'm sorry did you say something about not being able to blend because Face in Face begs to differ. The coloring on Faceless is gorgeous (PURPLE IS MY FAVORITE COLOR EVER) and even though it's just a simple texture on top it's very effective and makes it interesting. CHOSEN is my favorite of the 20in20 icons. The composition and cropping need to GTFO because I cannot handle them. That little smear of color at the top at first seemed distracting, but somehow it's presence makes me see purple in his shirt and suddenly the coloring is completely different from the alternates. It's some awesomely odd optical trick or PERHAPS WITCHCRAFT? Music four and five have a similar composition and texture use, but the coloring and emotion is so different.
AC #1 is some fucking flawless blocking, and #3 and #4 are all around fantastic. (LOLZ @ the 'stache!) Alt 2 FUCKING LOL! Love alt 3 and the red, you know I'm a sucker for red coloring and I really like the text too. 23 I love the texture and how it gives it a completely different feel from 21 and 22. 20 and 62 can just get in me right now.
All that said, Extreme simple and it's alts didn't really work for me, despite liking the coloring and the text on the alts. It's a touch grainy for me, but YMMV. Music 3, I like the color but nothing really stands out so it feels too dark and just blends into itself. But I really like what you did with it on 47. The little bit lighter coloring and the white space make it feel brighter.

My fave part of Complementary is the damn stripe down the middle. Funny, right? It's such a small detail, but I feel it adds oomph to keep the icon from being nothing more than just two color blocks. Face in Face turned out well, but I just couldn't mask away enough of the jacket to where it didn't bug me cuz when I got rid of most of it, the smaller image looked disembodied which also drove me nuts! UGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Chosen's alternates were made in July when I was trying to create a new default, but I couldn't stand all the yellow, so I pumped in purple and used that as my entry. Him "choosing" the glass is so ridiculously lame, but I had no clue what else to do. Also, IT'S WITCHCRAFT. AS USUAL.
Whew. I'm glad you don't think AC 1 is overcrowded. I kinda thought it was, but the alternates were too quiet and boring for my taste. AC 3 was just BEGGING to be made. His pornstache called to me, and I answered loudly and clearly! Everytime I make a red monochromatic icon, I'll probably think of you now. They're so easy to create, so I'm sure I'll be seeing lovely ones from you soon enough! I am...uneasy about #23. It feels too weird even for me, but since I think it makes a statement, I decided to let others see it.

Ugh, sharpening is such a huge problem for me. On my monitor, Extreme Simple and its variations look a tad undersharpened, and yet I just knew they'd end up looking oversharpened to others. Sharpening is my worst enemy!!!!!! How much do I love that you noticed I used the same lighting/colored texture for Cat 3 and AC 5 and its alternates? You have a great eye, obviously! I think I need to stop being lazy and pump more light into Cat 3. (Doubt it'll happen. Lazy fuck.)
