Vue Cinemas: Dolby, Dolby, give me your answer do...

Something a little light hearted for the weekend.. enjoy! :)

Oi Vue!

Where in cine-crikey have the Dolby Digital logos disappeared to? I remember, rather fondly, the days when the opening of a movie at your establishment included a rather nifty little skit (a stinger, if you will) whereby the Dolby Digital logo would appear in a variety of special ways - each more oUtReAgOuS than the last!

From the old school cityscape (think helicopter and somewhat banging guitar solo) to the subtle diffusion of smoke enveloping a locomotive, these logos have kept me entertained for years! So where are you holding them? My friends and I would often frequent the moving picture house purely to get jiggy with these aural orgasms - often trying to guess which one would appear at the head of our chosen feature. I demand you return them to their rightful position at the start of the film! (Although not before the BBFC title card; that would be disrespectful to the sterling organisation).

Should you fail to meet my requests, I shall have no choice but to launch a counter-offensive and dispatch my 'Dolby Digital Appreciation Choir' to your cinema. They are hard working individuals who need no encouragment (or feeding) and are committed to emulating the surround sound experience expected of a Dolby logo. They do not need arranging, as they are highly trained to best utilise the space provided (my wife occupies the rear right speaker position! I love her so). Please do not request DTS as that is clearly not the issue here.

You may sneer, but I can assure you that whilst I love my choir, they can get very, very annoying. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Alternatively, please reply with your own suggestions and perhaps we can work things out.

Tatty-bye-bye,

Cristophe U. Merrington-Head

PS. However, I must say I love the Vue feature presentation skit! You know, the one with the frames that people stand in whilst flying through space and people chant? Cocking marvellous.
