Ok, so I had a good weekend overall. I would've preferred to start the drive to Wayne on Friday night or at least be ready to leave earlier than I d id Saturday. I trekked to NW oh to visit Dave who I went to high school w/back in the day. Friday was crappy weather, and things just didnt wrk out right. Saturday started lame because I was tired. Then I needed to get a cell phone before my journey. Just in case anything happened. I get to Henderson and it's shut off for a block, including where I needed. Its a one block detour and traffic was jammed because of lunch hour. After what seems to be 40 minutes to travel 1block (moving 2 ft per 5min) I get to the verizon store. They dont have any phone I'd want, and the crappiest phone they have is 140 dollarsa since I'm "in contract w/them and upgraded last jan". Right. So I ask if they have any available in Toledo. THey say yeah.
Back on the road to get out of columbus. 2hr setback. I finally made it out of Columbus probably around 115,130pm. I made good time once I was out of Delaware. Finally made it to Wayne by 3pm. Saturday we had some excellent Chinese in BG across from teh BGSU Stadium. Then we went to a few places where ppl had airplanes. Dave played the piano at the musical hall practice place. Yeah so the building isnt called that, but... Thats what they do there. Dave is a very talented pianist. He sells himself short though. Sat eve we went out to a few of the stupidest bars full of stupid ppl and crazy drivers, though next to BG, Toledo consists of the c raziest drivers I've ever seen. I hate Toledo, by the way. Anyhow, yeah I was in good company but besides hanging out w/some of Dave's friends the places sucked. Sun morning spent afternoon goofing off on motorcycles, and running errands. I thoroughly enjoyed, and was surprised I enjoyed the bike ride w/Dave and his dad. On a side note I like his dad, he's a funny guy.
I was exhausted by 6pm. I wanted to go to sleep and wasnt looking forward to a long drive including night driving. So we opted to trek on a journey for Tiger shrimp. This proved a difficult quest. Finally we got the food we needed to make a late dinner then just hung out and stared at the tv until I gave in to sleep until this morning. I headed out late after getting gas again and probably was back on 75 Toward Findlay by 7:30am.
One of the funniest things from this weekend would be Dave's dad being thoroughly proud of teaching the family dog Heffer, to crawl through the tunnel. APparenlty I'm the only one who thinks its really funny watching the dog crawl under his dad, but its classic. Anyhow. Made it back to Columbus/Delaware by 915am, hit Wilson at 928, made it to wrk by 938. Weeee.
Overall it was worth the trip and I had a good time.
