Jerm is right in all aspects of what he told you but the best way to get the best base without painful vibrations is to put your woofers in 2 seperate boxes face oposite ways, and make sure they are not touching each other then enclose the 2 boxes in a sigal larger box with vavles 90 degrees from the way the speakers are facing.

So you should have 1 speaker in a box with about 8 inches of free space from the magnet to the end of the back of the box The front of the speaker sould be open faced, repeat the process with the other speaker and face the boxes east and west of eachother about 6 inches apart (do this with or without stereo). Then place both boxes in a larger single box with about 12 inches on space on all sides, except the top, the top sould have about 3 feet of space, and there should be no open space on the bottom.

And in order to have great highs to complete with your bass try to keep your 3 1/2s or whatever you get without any backing

Well, it looks like you have one heck of a shopping list. First off, are you wanting to cut up the car? This may be a wise choice since you only have those weenie 3 1/2" speakers in the dash, which are a bitch and a half to remove. I'd suggest going with a component speaker system installed into the door. The back deck only has 6 1/2" speakers in there, they aren't bad, but you could get better sound with a 6x8 or 6x9.. which again would require chopping up the car. The bandpass design it good for bass response, but the spruce pulp speakers aren't the best.. they are price effective though. If you're going to run 2 amps, I'd suggest getting a cap (capacitor) that way you will not turn the alternator into a flame thrower.

Head units are purely cosmetic or user choice.

Amps are again up to the $ you want to spend. You'll prolly want a 4 channel one to run the in car speakers and a subwoofer/mono amp to run the subs.

Crossovers are a good idea, unless the head unit can do this for you.

Speaker baffles... umm.. good idea, I've never used them. I've always made boxes for my speakers.

Dynamat is good, just have fun installing it.

Don't forget cabling, a power distribution block, inline fuses, and bandaids for the bloody knuckles.

I'm happy that I have all this information, but since I'm not a wire person and have never hooked up anything electronically in my life
(save setting up Atari-ninento-super nes-sony Systems in the back and front of vcr and cable stuff on the tv to make them all work) I dont understand any fo these terms. Not enough to want to do it, or know what I'm supposed to buy. I'm just going to pay someone to do it, and I'd rather it one of my friends thats not a screwball as opposed to some Pro at a car stereoshop who wants to take me for all he/she can.
