The Morning after. From bones_to_flesh

It had been such a long night. I mean, I had bitched out Daddy after he had given me grief over walking away the minute that we returned home. I mean, I didn't tell him the truth, which was a rarity for me, because being brutally honest was the only way to be, but how exactly was I going to explain to him that a group of vampires totally snatched me up, carried me off to some creepy and eww, dirty place, so that they could slit my throat and use my blood to raise the Master guy, or whoever?

I did tell him that some guys tried to hurt me, and he was all talking about getting the police or whatever, but I told him that they were wearing ski masks and in the end, I had kicked both of them in the nuts and had just ran. He asked about the cut on my neck, and I told him, duh, they had a big knife, but weren't a match for me. He seemed proud and I just pretty much went to sleep angry.

So, I wake up early, the following morning, because Harmony, and Nicole and I are supposed to go shopping, and just getting ready for the event was enough to call for copious amounts of preparation. Harmony would try to look the best, and I couldn't have that. I wondered what kind of trend that she would be breaking, of mine, this time out.

I was also sure hat lots o' money would be spent, so I commandeered Daddy's credit card, which he gave me, because he felt all bad about what had happened to me and stuff. Nothing like using the hellmouth or whatever to my advantage.

I drove to Harmony's house about a half an hour before store openings, in Los Angeles, and picked her up, knowing that there would be all of these stories that were probably all lies, that I was about to be regaled with. She got into the car, though, and had the biggest smile on her face, and I had to admit that the girl looked good, and was glowing. She was wearing black leather pants, which was a sort of new look for her, and a hot, even by my standards, blue top, that showed her abs and cleavage that few girls in the school could ever hope to have, well, except for me of course.

There had to be something behind this and I had to know. Something had happened to her and I was going to find out what. I wasn't going to tell her about my night and really didn't want to tell her about Tuscany, but I would, but what she had to say was more important. I mean, the girl looked like she had spent five hours a day in the gym for the last month, had gone to the beach a few times, and like something else far greater had happened.

"Okay, is Nicole going to be ready on time, or are we going to be waiting in her house for two hours? And more importantly, look at you! Been reading fitness magazine along with seventeen, have you?"
