Pain!

So, last Wednesday when I was coming back from the island, I wrenched my back out -really- good. I went to pull my heavy suitcase out from the back of Trevor's car (backseat) and of course its heavy, so I pulled hard, while twisting my whole body. Unfortunately, the suitcase caught on the frame of the door, so... it didn't come out of the car. Meanwhile, my entire body is still wrenching and twisting with all my weight behind it.

Needless to say, that threw out my back quite nicely. I got on the ferry, and about 30 min into the voyage, noticed the tension in my back. I attributed it to excitement or stress over roleplay, excitement would've been the new character I was building, the stress was due to a storyling from the previous night which hadn't quite gone the way I might have liked it to. However, despite me reaching behind my back and massaging it, and trying to relax, and sitting in different positions, the tension crept outwards.

By the time I was disembarked from the boat, and in my car, I quite literally could not even reach forward to adjust the volume on my stereo in my car, without it feeling like waves of marbles (marbles representing each individual little knot in my back) ...rolling across my back. It was quite nauseating actually. Imagine your stomach grumbling, and the odd sort of 'rolling' sensation it creates sometimes. Now imagine that instead of your stomach, it's your back, and the pain is about 10x more. I could definitely -feel- it every time my muscles tensed into those hard little knots... I'd say they were about the size of marbles... each knot.

I went over this one bump in the road and ended up screaming in my car, because the bump and then the 'land' and the compression that my back felt, rocked my world. And not in a good way.

Got home, and slept on top of a heating pad despite the fact that you're not supposed to. I was sort of alright once I was in bed, laying down, provided I didn't try to move. David ordered me a medium pizza, because I figured pizza was good and could be eaten in bed, and I think the pain was causing my metabolism to shoot through the roof because I ate the whole damn thing, I was starving! Got a good night's sleep that night, (or so I thought) and woke up the next morning with my back still seized. Phoned work to see if they needed me since I'd be pretty useless and got a reprieve to get the day off. Spent the WHOLE DAY in bed, flat on my back, on a heating pad. Thank god for the internet LOL I only got up to go to the bathroom and get drinks of water. Spent the night in bed too... and again got what I thought was a good night's sleep. Woke up to head to work and was phoned by my boss and told that I could do a half day, there wasn't any rush for me to go into work, and I could go in at 12 instead of 10 if I wished. (I wished)

Went into work at 12, and stayed until 5:30'ish, went over to my boss's condo for an hour and hung out discussing a few things with her and the Assistant, because I was only working 1 day this week, and they had left as soon as I got there... had to get some things sorted out! Came home, my LEGS were killing me now! Because my back was still sore... and even though I had mobility but had to be careful how I moved, instead of 'pushing it' all I did was unconsciously (and I do this a lot in similar situations) shift my center of gravity off my back, to my legs. My knees carried all my weight yesterday and by the time I got home, both my knees and both my ankles were just throbbing!

So, I had a hot bath. Got outta the tub, thinking I would spend some time rp'ing with my friends online, lasted maybe 20 min before I passed out, face down, spread eagle, and SIDEWAYS across the bed. I guess the pain finally kicked my ass, and knocked me right out! I slept 12 hrs.

I am now getting ready to go out and do a few chores... (Oil change, haircut, etc) and will be back later this afternoon.

Love T
