To live on principle is such an unstable idea. Thats porobably why people stopped doing it. What does principle really mean at the end of the day? Its a vague word that only has meaning in context. But then what is anything without context? And so then, yes I do live on principle. Because if I don't, if I succumb to the wrongs, and then what would that say about my morality? my intentions? It would be so much easier if these were the cave ages and humans actually lived on human instinct. But we dont. We lived in a man-made manifestation called society and so I adhere to those principles. Possibly the out-dated ones for some. Too conservative, too old fashioned. But not for me, the ones that have gone out of style are the ones that should still remain. Principle being one such value.
And what a vague entry this was. It could have been about anything. Not killing my neighbor, not stealing, hoarding, fornicating. Really, all these frameworks in which principles ensue become void in the modern world. I dont murder because its the principle of man's right to exist. I dont hoard because its the principle that material wealth and agriculture should be shared among the population, etc., etc. And so yes, I gladly live on principle, because it seems to be the right thing to do.
Im sure some anthropologist has proven it to be otherwise, with its unnatural birth. Society, is not natural by any means. Humans are meant to be nomadic...
So as unnatural as it may be, principles may be one of the few redeeming qualities in society.
Speaking of society....shallow and all I need to watch the Gossip Girl episode I missed.

EDIT: What the fuck? I leave in 5 days. This is all so surreal. For the firs time....I feel like Indy :-)
EDIT: Not true, I felt like Indy for the first time, when Cath, Maegan and I went swinging off that rope into the water. Ha.
