Love on the Beach

Oct 01, 2013 17:25

this if for my lovely ainantekesenai, my soulmate and senpai, because i miss her. (and for ISSAS bc all my Tegomass is for ISSAS.)

Masuda never liked flying.
It was something he connected with work and his father, and he didn't particularly care for either.
But still he books a charter ticket from Tokyo to anywhere with a bar and maybe a decent bed just to get away from work, and his father, for a week or two.
The bus ride from the airport takes forever though.
The kids behind him keeps kicking his seat, and the air conditioner is turned on way too cold.
Masuda finally understands why so many people get sick while on vacation in the sun, the A/C is always on polar-mode.
His room wasn't too big, but it did have a double-bed.
He guessed that his father had been responsible for that; when Masuda wanted a relaxing vacation, he got a relaxing vacation.
As long as he was back in the office in a week.
Masuda really wished for a few more weeks of vacation, but he doubted that his father would let him live to see his next birthday if he asked for an extended leave.
So he'd have to make the most of what he had.
Checking into the hotel and getting his things to his room takes less time than he had expected even with, and his jet lag tells him to go straight to bed because it's past midnight in Japan, but it's still not even dinner time here.
But instead of going down to the pool to maybe work on a tan or even swim a few lengths, he finds himself heading to the hotel bar, to get something to keep him awake for a few hours more.

At the bar he finds an asian man serving alcohol to tired parents and virgin-drinks to their children.
The blonde greets Masuda with a smile and a horrible english accent, and Masuda regrets not studying more because he probably sounds the same.
It's that bartender that make Masuda stay the rest of the evening, and then come back the next day.
The bartender with almost white hair and a pretty smile, who almost jumped with joy when he found out that Masuda also was from Japan and didn't mind putting aside his mediocre english for a language they both knew.
He found out that the man was Tegoshi Yuya, who's badge said Yuya because the people he worked with found it easier to pronounce, and he worked part time with teaching the children in the kid's clubs how to dance for the daily evening shows.
He had given up his father's dream of becoming a pro at football and instead chosen the life as an outcast serving alcohol to parents who drank it to make the life with children more bearable.

After spending four days talking to Tegoshi at the bar, but always making sure to order drinks without alcohol, Masuda finally gathered up the courage to ask what Tegoshi was doing later that evening.
However the answer wasn't quite what he had expected, Tegoshi said that he had a date, and then went on to bragging about how attractive his date was.
Masuda did consider himself clever, but it still took him a whole five minutes to figure out that Tegoshi was talking about him.
And Tegoshi would spend the rest of the day playfully hitting Masuda whenever his smile got too jester-like.

The city by night was indeed beautiful, and all the colors from the tourist shops with the lights from the restaurants dancing in Tegoshi's almost white hair.
Masuda couldn't put all the blame on his tequila drinks; tegoshi was stunning.
So without thinking Masuda leaned over the bar table and kissed him.
Not because he wanted to disobey his father, nor because he wanted to be rebellious, but because he genuinely wanted to be with Tegoshi.
He hated how cliche it sounded; love at first sight.
But as Tegoshi hummed and kissed him back, he threw away those thoughts and decided to start taking more risks in life, and to start with calling his father first thing in the morning to tell him that he wanted to quit his job.

However telling Tegoshi about his plans to take more risks proved to be a mistake, he realized as he found himself lying on his stomach on a bench in a tattoo parlor.
-Do I really have to do this?
-It won't hurt, I thought you said you wanted to go wild? The new Masuda would definitely say yes to this.
Years later, Masuda would still bring up just how much that tattoo hurt whenever he wanted to guilt Tegoshi into something.
And he considered himself lucky that he'd never have to undress in front of anyone other than Tegoshi ever again, because the pumpkin on his lower back would be very embarrassing to explain.

A/N: I'm very aware of the fact that the drink is named Sex On The Beach, but i was recently in Spain, and my hotel had named it Love On The Beach instead because it was a child-infested hotel -.-
