so, now it's written into the state constitution that same-sex marriages and civil unions are not legal or recognized in the state of tennessee. this was voted into effect by the people of tennessee, something like 81% in support of the ban. davidson county (nashville) was the most sympathetic to the rights of homosexual couples; only 68% percent of voters supported the measure. in shelby county (memphis), 80% of voters gave their support to referendum 1.

jesus, i'm so very fucking proud to live in the reddest of red states, where discrimination is treated like virtue. i'm terrified of my neighbors...who the fuck are these people? 6 other states approved similar amendments to state constitutions.

only the state of arizona voted against a ban on same-sex marriages. ignorant republicans are celebrating nationwide, eating cake and yelling about "one man, one woman!". fuck the bible.

in other news, nevada was only 6% away from a popular majority decision to legalizing marijuana, rumsfield resigned and democrats have the senate now. i wish barack obama would run for president. i would vote for him. him, or john stewart.
