Ed was tempted to tell his brother that he could see the sun glinting off the armor, but he knew that Al was trying to hide.
He turned off the spigot to the Rockbells' crude outdoor shower, & put his back to the tall grass where he knew Al was laying. Al snuck up behind him, but Ed could hear him clanging the whole way. When he turned around, he feigned surprise. “Wow, thanks, Al!” Ed said, taking the towel Al offered.
Heading inside, Ed rapped his knuckles against Al's breastplate. “You know, Al, you don't have to warm yourself in the sun for me.”
“I know, Brother, but someday I want to feel your warmth again. Until then, you can at least feel mine.”
