When you just finish typing up a nice, long, satisfying and anecdote-filled update...and a power surge hits your house and all computers wink out like Tinkerbell.

Semagic with autosave can be a godsend at times like that.

There are cracks of lightning around here at the moment. Hopefully nothing will hit the house...

Wow. There's got to be a record you just broke for fastest reply. I hit POST and I swear not 30 seconds later here you are.

What is this Semagic you speak of? I'm, like, not even throwing distance from competent when it comes to computers.

Lightning scares me. I will certainly hope nothing hits your house, either. At least with you in it.

Haha, it wasn't intentionally fast. I had just opened my friends page for the first time and... there you were! ;-)

Semagic is a stand-alone piece of software for updating your journal. It has lots of bells and whistles that you'll either beam at, or hate instantly. Some of those include the ability to autosave entries as you write, as well as saving drafts, which stops all those problems with pages not updating and entries being lost (well, reduces the likelihood).

Get it here.
