i still cant even talk about it
but i probably should because otherwise i'll never forget it.....
We lost big tens to Michigan. we were up 3-1 going into the fourth quarter, being that we're a defensive team and it was a defensive game, we shouldve closed it out. however, they tied it instead and we had a 2 period, 3 minutes each overtime. nobody scored. double OT is sudden death. Despite absolutely dominating them the entire 34.8 minutes we lost. The refs called 8 kickouts against us and 2 against them. they also called two four meters on us, which is a free shot from 4 meters away from our goalie with no D. the worst part is that they won in sudden death on that 4 meter.
The whole time youre sitting there on the bench (as we only used 8 people that game although somehow i moved up to being the 3rd off the bench because im getting better (or 9th person)) thinking about how if you score the next goal you get to go to nationals in texas for 5-6 days two weeks from them. You get to jump off the bench, dive in and sing your fight song because you are the best and youre going to win a national title showing the rest of the country what midwest polo is all about. Most of all the dragging part is that you wont see some of your best friends more then every once in a while until next season. for some reason i cant concentrate on anything now and of course i have nothing to do but go to class and sleep.
so now im going home tomorrow and when i come back friday afternoon i'll have grown up and moved on in life. Back to working on that degree and trying to improve that gpa. thanks for the support this year everyone and good luck on whatever youre trying to accomplish right now too.
