Okay, well, I'm baaaack! And new york, as my friend guerry aptly pointed out, is blah. HOWEVER The metropolitan museum of art has got to be the best experience of my life. We only got to stay for about 6 hours one day, so the next day I went (by myself! me, walking around nyc by myself!) the second it opened and stayed until dark (I do love the museum, but not enough to brave nyc in the dark by myself). I'm so unhappy now that I'm back in texas and can't go back to the met. *sniffle* I didn't even get to see all that I wanted to. It's SOOOO huge. But I plan on going back to new york next summer with guerry (that's right! I'm holding you to it! ha ha) and I'll be able to go back. I'll just try to survive until then.

I went to see the Guggenheim, the American Folk Art Museum, some stupid textile museum (dad's idea, not mine) and the Jewish museum, but they all paled compared to the met. Other than that, I didn't really see much of new york. However, I will say this: the people in new york, for the most part, are NOT rude. In fact, on several occasions, as we wondered with vacant expressions on our faces, strangers stopped to see if we needed help. Okay, they were pushier and less courteous, but not at all what I'd call rude. However, daddy accidentally bumped into this one man, and though daddy of course excused himself, the man just about had a conniption. As mom walked by, she said in a hilariously droll voice: "You're the first rude new yorker we've met." To which he replied "Fuck you too, bitch." (we howled with laughter).

I was worried about how I would look in new york (and it wasn't great, I must admit; I put on makeup, but we were so hot and sweaty then it all melted off) but I needn't have worried. There were plenty of schlobs like us. There were a lot of skirts, though. I've never seen so many skirted women. pretty, skirted women. Maybe new york wasn't so blah after all...

In other news, Rufus Wainwright came to my dear friend Guerry's town, and she went to go and see him and.... she got me his autograph! Actually, she's giving me hers (I guess you only got one because you only had one booklet? I would have taken an autograph on anything - a used tissue, perhaps? a scrap of underwear elastic?) ! Is that not the nicest thing ever? And she likes rufus about as much as I do. But then again, she is a very generous person! :D Here's a picture of the beloved autograph: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y97/jeannegenie/rufusautograph.jpg He crossed the s instead of the f, so it sorta looks like... RnCA... but I love it all the more because of it. Guerry said he did that because he was holding it? Oh, hey! he was holding it! In his own hand! *happy grin*

Well, I've got lots more to say, but I've got to go do some stuff then sleep (we're paiting my room, so I'm forced to get up early). I'll post later, then try to get caught up on all of your lj entries!
